Independent survey of employees identifies the best large and midsize companies

Forbes, in partnership with Statista.com, conducted an online survey of more than 30,000 American workers spanning midsize and large U.S. companies, nonprofits and government agencies. The willingness to recommend one's own employer on a scale of 1-10 was given the most weight in the survey. Secondarily, employees were asked to mention good or bad employers in other sectors/industries other than their own. The list of 250 midsize companies is comprised of those with at least 100 mentions and 20 direct recommendations in the online survey.
