WASHINGTON, Aug 18, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Navigant Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: NCI) announced today that Jim Speyer, Julie Solomon, Dr. Matthew Arenchild and Dr. Ajit Kulkarni have recently joined the Energy Practice. The addition of Speyer and Solomon as Managing Directors in the Washington DC office, and Arenchild and Kulkarni as Directors in Sacramento, further deepens Navigant's expertise in the energy sector, particularly in the regulatory space.

"I am delighted about the addition of four new experts to the energy team," stated Bill Dickenson, Managing Director and the leader of Navigant Consulting's Energy Practice. "Their collective energy and regulatory expertise is an immediate asset to our practice as we continue to provide clients in the energy sector with best-in-class consulting services."

Speyer, who has served as Director of Coal and Utility Policy at the U.S. Department of Energy, Director of Energy Policy at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and on President Carter's energy staff, is an expert with more than thirty years of experience providing strategic analysis of energy and environmental issues. She testifies frequently on market power and competition issues concerning mergers, asset transfers and market-based rates subject to review by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
