Navigant Consulting Appoints Chief Innovation Officer of Healthcare Practice and Strengthens Services with Addition of New Hires

CHICAGO, Jan 27, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Navigant Consulting, Inc. (NYSE:NCI) announced today that Marc A. Bard, M.D. has been appointed Chief Innovation Officer of the company's Healthcare practice. In this role, Dr. Bard will work with healthcare payers and providers to design and implement innovative solutions for improving clinical outcomes, care processes, and business performance.

Dr. Bard is a nationally regarded expert on physician leadership effectiveness, change management, and organizational design. As healthcare reform takes shape, Dr. Bard is leading a team of experts to assist clients with improving the quality of care and effectively controlling costs by exploring the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) model.

Allen D. Kemp, M.D., MBA, is a Managing Director in Navigant's Healthcare Strategy practice. Mr. Kemp is an accomplished Senior Executive and Corporate Officer with an extensive background in the healthcare industry enhancing financial stability, overseeing clinical operations, coordinating mergers and acquisitions, and developing strategic alliances. Most recently, Mr. Kemp was the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Erdman, a Cogdell Spencer Company in Wisconsin. He has expertise in providing corporate and board governance, improving operational quality, and managing personnel and has served as the Chair of the American Medical Group Association (AMGA) Board of Directors and is now a Director of the American Medical Group Foundation (AMGF) Board.

Donna Kinzer is aManaging Director in Navigant's Managed Care Pricing practice. Donna has experience in market and trend research, organizational analysis, cost and data analysis, payment model development, and reimbursement systems. Her 34 years of experience span a variety of payers, providers, and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to joining Navigant, Donna was a Partner with a large accounting and consulting practice where she practiced for 25 years.

Thomas McKenna is a Managing Director in Navigant's Life Sciences practice and brings over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Spending much of his career at Bristol-Myers Squibb, he led strategic planning, market research, pricing and reimbursement, customer marketing, direct to customer marketing, U.S. medical affairs, disease management, marketing and sales administration, U.S. trade relations, and public policy.

Victoria Humphrey is a Director focused on Supply Chain. She has over 25 years experience as a professional nurse in Supply Chain including operations, cost reduction, and contract administration.

Greg Johnson is a Director focused on Performance Improvement. As the former CEO of Cardiovascular Specialty Associates of North Texas, he is a seasoned healthcare professional with expertise in physician integration, strategy and operations.

Eileen Walsh is a Director with over 25 years of clinical, administrative and consulting experience in provider operations with an emphasis on interventional services such as surgery, cardiac, endoscopy and pain management. Her areas of expertise span the operations management continuum and include productivity and operations improvement, capacity management, labor and non-labor expense reduction and revenue management.
