Physician executives DeBehnke, MD, and Peck, MD, bring decades of
academic and tertiary health system leadership experience
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 2019--
Navigant (NYSE: NCI) today announced the addition of a pair of former
health system executives and physician leaders with more than 50
combined years of healthcare experience to its Healthcare segment’s
strategic solutions practice.
Daniel DeBehnke, MD, MBA, has joined Navigant as a managing director,
overseeing the firm’s academic health system solutions. Charles Peck,
MD, will rejoin Navigant as a managing director, where he will serve as
the southeast regional market leader. Dr. Peck previously led the firm’s
clinical and operational excellence offerings from 2013-2015.
A board-certified emergency medicine physician, Dr. DeBehnke most
recently served as CEO of the Nebraska Medicine health system and CEO of
Medical College Physicians, a faculty practice plan affiliated with
Froedtert Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin. He also was
senior associate dean for clinical affairs and chief clinical
integration officer at the Medical College of Wisconsin and has
practiced on the front lines of Level 1 trauma centers, led a research
laboratory, and participated on U.S. National Institutes of Health
review panels.
Dr. Peck joins Navigant from Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center,
where he served as president and CEO. During his tenure, the
organization was the only hospital in Georgia to be named a 2018 Top
Teaching Hospital by the Leapfrog Group, and improved quality measures
performance from a D to an A in Leapfrog’s Hospital Safety Grades. In
addition, Dr. Peck helped increase cost savings, reduce employee
turnover, grow patient volumes, open a state-of-the-art ambulatory
campus, and expand Piedmont’s successful partnership with the University
of Georgia. Dr. Peck also held executive roles at Aetna and FTI
Consulting.
“Dan and Chuck have spent decades leading health systems, helping them
overcome industry pressures and challenges while driving significant
performance improvements,” said Rulon Stacey, managing director and
leader of Navigant’s Strategic Solutions practice. “Their additions
demonstrate Navigant’s ongoing commitment to assisting academic and
tertiary systems to be ‘forward compatible’ with the future of care
delivery.”
