Navigant Earns Perfect Score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 16th Annual Scorecard on LGBTQ Workplace Equality

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 9, 2017-- Navigant (NYSE: NCI) proudly announced today that for the ninth consecutive year, it has received a perfect score on the 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). Administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC), the CEI is a U.S. benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality.

“Navigant’s commitment to the promotion of a workplace that values mutual respect and equality is unwavering,” said Julie Howard, Navigant chairman and CEO. “Championing diversity and inclusion is engrained in our core values, and our company’s success is due to our colleagues’ commitment to supporting these values in everything we do.”

In 2017, Navigant continued to create awareness, understanding, and an appreciation for its progressive work environment through programs championed by the company’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Allies Employee Resource Group. The efforts included webinars, sponsorships, active participation in LGBTQ-focused job fairs, and community outreach around the country.

“Receiving a perfect score on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index nine-years running is a direct testament to Navigant’s commitment to the LGBT community,” said Sarah Golden, manager in Navigant’s human capital department and co-chair of the company’s LGBTA Employee Resource Group. “Navigant continues to stand on the right side of history by actively supporting a diverse and inclusive workforce. For that, I am truly grateful.”

The 2018 CEI rated 947 businesses in the report, through a survey evaluating policies and practices including nondiscrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive healthcare benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Navigant’s efforts in satisfying all the CEI criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people. HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work, and in every community.
